  1. We no longer offer free video tutorials to guests, visitors or freeloaders and never in the future again.  You may want to go to YouTube if you are looking for free videos.  Or lynda.com for free video tutorials?

  2. Some of the software titles are free, but how come the VTCs for them are't free?

Making one video tutorial costs resources such as labor, time and software applications, storage.  If you are not satisfied with this response, then you should perhaps do some research, make hundreds of video tutorials and offer them for free on the Internet.

  3. How do I obtain a blog account?

You can't.  It's closed for the moment.

  4. Could you make more VTCs available for guests?

    Unlikely.

  5. How can I obtain a member's account?

Please read 'Membership' under 'For Guests & Members' on the side bar.  Please note that we don't always accept membership applications as we don't necessarily want donations.  When the door is closed, it really is closed, and there is no backdoor that you can knock on.

  6. I don't have a PayPal account.  Do you accept other forms of payment like credit cards?

Depending on the web browser you use, we accept credit cards.

  7. [Intentionally left blank]

  8. How do I post a comment?

At the end of every post, you will see a sign that says 'Comments (#),' where # is a real number.  It's actually the number of comments that have been posted.  Simply click on 'Comments (#),' and you will be forwarded to the page where you can post a comment.

    Mac VTC

  10. What will I need a member's account for?

You will be able to access all Flash and QuickTime-based video tutorials you find at Video Tutorials Home.

  11. [Intentionally left blank]

  12. I have made a donation but can't log in to watch any of the VTCs.

You must probably have logged in your blog or forums account.  When you want to watch a particular VTC, click on the button that says 'Members' found inisde each blog article describing a particular video tutorial.

  13. What's the difference between guests and members?

A guest is any visitor to our websites whether he or she has a blog or forums account.  Anyone who has made a monetary contrbution is a member and gets unlimited access to all video tutorials.  For more information, please read 'Accounts.'

  14. [Intentionally left blank]

  15. My IP address seems to be blocked. How could I get it unblocked?

If your IP address is blocked, that's most likely because you have violated one of the rules we have set.  If you have, then you will remain blocked for good whehther you are a visitor, spammer or a donation member.

  16. I think this site is full of deception.  Where can I file my complaint?

Our websites are hosted by an American web hosting company.  So we abide by U.S. communications regulations. Therefore, you may file your complaint at Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  And go ahead and file a complaint at Better Business Bureau Online.

  17. If my question is not listed here, can I contact you and how?

Please click on 'Contact' on the menu bar that you see at the top of the blog.

  18. I don't like the way this site is run and things are handled.  Can I make suggestions?

    No thanks.

  19. Can I sell my video tutorial to you?

    No gracias, amigo.

  20. I have made a donation. Will I get a reply about one of the VTCs if I post a question?

Yes.  We read every comment.  So you may probably want to first state that you are a member at the beginning of the comment.  If you are not a member, we won't guarantee that we answer every single question since we expect visitors to help each other and exchange ideas and information.  For we are busy battling with spammers (spam bots) and making new video tutorials.

  21. Are you going to upload more of your VTCs at YouTube?

    No.

  22. [Intentionally left blank]

  23. Could you put an audio commentary in video tutorials?

All current video tutorials include audio commentary.

  24. [Intentionally left blank]

  25. I've sent a comment/question using a contact form.  Why don't you answer it?

We are too busy making next video tutorials and busting spammers.  And we have no time to answer simple questions that are already answered in this FAQ section.  Moreover, we have no time to respond to insults, threats and unreasonable requests.

By the way, no matter how urgent your problem is, we won't personally reply to your how-to question sent by a contact form.  MacHouse is not a software developer, and therefore, we are not responsible the product we didn't sell.

  26. How come you are not accepting membership applications?

We sometimes don't.  We want to control the monthly usage of limited bandwidth by accepting or not accepting membership applications or charging an annual fee for the membership.  It is also true that the door is closed because members only watch video tutorials and don't exchange information.  The main purpose of this video tutorial is to offer a place where people can exchage ideas and information after watching our video tutorials.

  27. [Intentionally left blank]

  28. Hey, I can make better video tutorials than you do.

Okay.  You don't need our permission to set up your own website and post your video tutorials.

  29. I can't watch sample video tutorials.

That sort of statements does not exactly address the exact issue you are having at our website.  Telling exactly what happens when clicking on the video link will be more problem-solving.  Do you see a question mark when you click?  Or do you end up with a 404 error page?

When you proceed to watch a video tutorial by clicking on either red or green button, any of four events can subsequently happen.

    1.  A white blank screen: There is no QuickTime file at the destination of a PHP file.
    2.  404 Not Found: A wrong PHP file is specified.
    3.  A white question mark: A possible QuickTime file with a wrong a file name exists at the destination of a PHP file.

  30. "This is stupid. Don't require a login to watch your video when it simply says..."

Insulting the site administrator is violation of one of our rules. Therefore, you will never be able to access our websites.

  31. [Intentionally left blank]

  32. "How annoying. I found exactly the type of tutorial I wanted on your site. To view the article I have to sign up, then ...  It's not like you have to physically fit everyone into a room or anything, this is the Internet!"

How annoying it is for us to hear grievance when in fact we specifically ask non-members not to send it in a contact form!  Apparently, you are not reading anything we post.  Instead, you seem to follow your own rules.  You have violated a couple of rules in the first place.  Therefore, your IP address is permanently blocked.  By the way, it never occurs to us that we owe you anything.

  33. I cannot watch the video.  If I click on the play button, I get a question mark inside the QuickTime logo.

QuickTime 7.1.5 itself is likely to be the cause of the problem.  You need to update it to 7.2.  If the problem persists, you need to reload the page several times or trash exisiting caches.

  34. Why are membership fees so expensive now?

We don't want to give a membership to everyone who comes here.  If it were just $1, I'm sure a lot of people would choose to get a membership.  Personally, I would rather spend the same amount of money ordering 3 or 4 large pizzas instead of wasting my money getting a membership.

  35. How can I post articles of my own?

    You can't.

  36. Can I upload my own video tutorials?

    No.

  37. Can I use an alias with a fake e-mail address in posting a comment at your blog?

    Yes, you can.

  38. What do you mean by 'freeloaders'?

Freeloaders are those who download free files and watch free video tutorials without taking any form of participation.

  39. I cannot download free web themes, icons or view free video tutorials.  Why?

We occasionally disable the freeloader downloading slot when visitors show little or no participation.  For more information, you may want to read "How to Use This Blog" or Latest MacHouse News at Home for status changes.

  40. I cannot save a QuickTime video along with a specific video tutorial on my hard disk drive.

    See this page.  (Members only)

  41. I cannot register a blog account.

No.1, getting a blog account won't make you a member or give you any special privileges enough to watch video tutorials.  No. 2, we occasionally close the door because many people misunderstand what the blog account is for.

  42. [Intentionally left blank]

  43. [Intentionally left blank]

  44. I don't find free video tutorials at MacHouse Forums.

We don't offer free video tutorials any more.

  45. [Intentionally left blank]

  46. How come you guys have such a bad attitude?

Everybody does.  Running a website isn't easy, anyway, as some visitors are only interested in getting what they want instead of contributing to the website developement.

  47. "could you tell me how i could become a well behaved member ? and belive me, moment any other source provide a tutorials on MPEG SreamClip i will go away for good"

We will make sure that extortionists like you will never make it back to our websites.

  48. [Intentionally left blank]

  49. [Intentionally left blank]

  50. Do you have sample video tutorials that I can watch before I sign up for an annual membership?

Yes.  Please go to Home (MHVT.NET) > For Guests & Members > Memberships

  51. [Intentionally left blank]

  52. "Its not right I can go on youtube and see them but if I come directly here I cant"

Then be advised to go back to YouTube.  We are not obligated in any way, legally or ethically, to upload our videos at YouTube in the first place.  As we are free men, we are not obligated to provide anything that we have produced to you in any form at our own websites.

  53. "I cant believe you tell us not to send stuff if we are not paying you"

That's a nearly correct statement.  We don't have enough man power to listen to hundreds of complaints a day.  We have to draw a line somewhere.  This is a private website created, owned and run by Tom Bluewater and his associates.  We don't send invitations and ask people to come here very often.  In addition, we are free men and old enough to make our decisions.  If you feel that this website is not for you, please leave and complain about it somewhere else.  But don't open a ticket at Help Desk and send your grievance or recommendation unless you are a member, whom we are obligated to listen to.  Help Desk is primarily desined to help those who encounter problems at our website.  We have no plans to install a feature called 'Grievance Desk.'
