6-5 Reordering the appearance of copy items

Updating to Version 1.5, the user is able to reorder the appearance of copy items.  Let's first see changes in Preferences.  With the tab set to Settings, notice that a new checkbox has been added.  (See Screenshot 6-13.)  If you enable Reordering copy items, the drop-down list right below will become accessible.  (See Screenshot 6-14.)  Exploring this drop-down menu, you will find four choices.  The default appearance is done by date of creation.  So whether you leave 'Reordering copy items' disabled or choosing 'By date of creation' from the drop-down menu does not make any difference.  If you enable the checkbox and choose By name, ascending from the drop-down menu, CopyReady will sort copy items by name in an ascending order (A at the top down to Z).  If you choose By name, descending, CopyReady will sort copy items by name in a descending order.  Finally, choose By user configuration to reorder the appearance of copy items in the way you put them.

Note that the appearance will change when you restart the application.  So it will be a good idea if you just enable Require restart.  (See Screenshot 6-15)

When you choose Reorder Copy Items, a new window will appear to the right of the main one.  This window lists the names of all copy items that belong to the current Bar.  You can grab and drag, reposition any of the rows.  (See Screenshot 6-18.)  When you finish reordering copy items, click on the Reorder button at the bottom.  And CopyReady will close and then reopen the main window.  Screenshot 6-19 suggests that no change has been made to the order apprearance.  If you don't see any change, make sure you have selected 'By user configuration' on the drop-down menu in Preferences.  (See Screenshot 6-20.)

Going back to the appearance list once again, after you have reordered copy items, if want to restore the order of apperance, choose Reorder > Restore Previous.  (See Screenshot 6-21.)  And copy items will be sorted in the way they were ordered before you grabbed any rows and made changes to the list.  If you choose Restore Original, copy items will be sorted by creation date, which is the default appearance of order.  Don't forget to press the button below to make the ultimate change.
