養父母と一緒に暮らしていた時は、7歳のジェレミーにとって生活はそれなりに快適だった。そんな幸せな生活を送るある日、市役所の社会福祉課はジェレミーを実の母親サラの元に戻す。しかしサラの無責任な行動から、ジェレミーはしつけの厳しい祖父母の家、サラ、そして道端の間を行ったり来たりで生きることになる。
Seven-year-old Jeremiah has a relatively comfortable life with a foster family. Then the Social Services takes him from the foster family and returns him to his biological mother, Sarah. But because of her irresponsibility, Jeremiah goes back and forth between her grandparents, Sarah and the street.
