Before you start, you may want to read the following tips:
- To get food, hunt wild animals when you can. Villagers get food by hunting faster than farming or picking berries.
- Generate villagers continuously. Villagers are the engines of growth. Don't stop creating villagers.
- Use Docks to get food if there are fish. While a town center is in transition, you cannot generate villagers. But you can create fishing boats at Docks.
- Use war vessels to attack ground units when you can. Ground units have weak pierce armors.
- Use hot keys effectively. Use hot keys to find Town Center (Command + C), Dock (Command + D), Market (Command + M), Farm (Command + I), War Hut (W) and so forth.
- Attack enemy's base early before they come to yours. If you don't destroy their economy, they will come strike you again.
- Take one villager or more when you go to raid enemy's base so that they can build war compounds at the destination.
- When there is a town center, build a market at first so that you can research technologies.

ACT I: 1. The Bozeman Trail
Difficulty: Hard
The first objective is to build a trading post at the center of the map. (See Screnshot 11-01.) Before reaching the first trading post location, save a few Apache scouts. Use them to scout the whole area and to find the bases of Crazy Horse (Orange) and Red Cloud (Red).
After getting Black to build the first trading post, use his sniper-shot ability to kill cavalry on his way to the 2nd trading post in the north. And let the rest of the troops defend the first trading post. Indians will mostly go to the first trading post throughout the entire campaign. So you need to concentrate on defending the first trading post while building a large military at the 2nd location.
After building a military with artilleries at the 2nd location, send it to Crazy Horse (Orange). (See Screnshot 11-04.) Red Cloud will come to help its ally, so keep sending troops to Crazy Horse until you completely wipe it out by setting a gathering point for military units. |
|

Finally, you need to invade Red Cloud's base. After destroying Crazy Horse, it won't be difficult to eradiate Red Cloud troops. But bring one villager or more and build military compounds to add more units when needed. |

ACT I: 2. Red Cloud’s War
Difficulty: Hard
The first objective of this campaign is to save railroad workers from the Sioux. The first mission is easy. You don't need extra men to complete this mission. Just use Chayton Black's Hawk Eye to kill the first horse rider. And take care of the rest with Black and Holme. When the first group of rescued railroad workers reach the base, send 2 of them to Vega's Lounge. There are crates containing food, wood and coins, which you will need for the next mission. (See Screnshot 12-02.) You will especially need wood, or you will have to buy it, using a market.
The 2nd mission is tricky. You need to have Chayton Black build a trading post at 3 different locations. When the 2nd mission starts, use the cards to bring a few groups of military units from Home City to the base. Hire Swiss Pikemen at Dirty McGerties. (See Screnshot 12-03.) Nonetheless, you can complete the 2nd mission without using the cards.

|

Screenshot 12-01 |
When Black comes to the base, bring him to the bottom of the map. And get him to build a trading post. When it's complete, immediately upgrade it for Stagecoach. (See Screnshot 12-04.) Don't send him to the 2nd trading post yet. You should have enough resources from the crates around Vega's Lounge for this upgrade. If you go to the 2nd trading post before completing the one at the base, you have to defend that trading post as well as the one at the base. You don't want to split your military units to defend buildings at different locations. |
When the upgrade of the first trading post is complete at the base, then upgrade it for Iron Horse. (See Screnshot 12-05.) Still, you just need to defend the base only. When the 2nd upgrade is complete, go to the 2nd trading post and then to the 3rd. |
For the second objective, abandon the home base and take all men to the 2nd trading post. Send Black, some men and artilleries to the hideout after completing the 2nd trading post. Let other units defend it. Gangsters will come out of PJ's Red Dragon Taproom periodically. So you need a strong fire power to destroy this building at once. |

ACT I: 3. Claims
Difficulty: Hard
If you use the cards effectively, this mission can be quite easy and fun to play.
As soon as the campaign starts, send a group of cavalry and Falconet to the southeast and destroy Spanish (Pink) gate and stable. (See Screnshot 13-01.) Don't attack other military compounds, or your troops will be wiped out by their infantry.
By the time you finish destroying the Spanish stable, the Sious (Orange) will enter your territory from northeast, crossing the river. Bring the rest of the military units you have to the northwest watch tower by the river. (See Screnshot 13-02.) If you use the cards to bring military units from Home City, they should arrive by this time. But you can defeat them without extra men anyway.
Next, send all the troops to the Spanish territory and wipe out the entire base. (See Screnshot 13-03.) When finished, instead of desroying their south gate, exist from the north gate and head northeast again. |
|

Screenshot 13-01 |
Generate some military units to defend the mining camps and trading posts at the center of the map and also to the west. (See Screnshot 13-04.) Soon, red Sioux troops will arrive and try to destroy the mining camps and trading posts. You will be notified when they are attacked. |
When your main military squad finishes destroying the Spanish base, send them to strike the Sioux base (Orange) across the river. (See Screnshot 13-05.) Set the gathering point of the war hut to send more military units during a battle. |
Let's get the military head northwest to attack the Sioux base (Red), next. (See Screnshot 13-06.) Bring one villager or more to build military compounds including war huts and stables. The battle can be fierce, and you need to add more men quickly whenever needed. |

ACT I: 4. Ambushed!
Difficulty: Hard
The main objective of this mission is to safely bring Chayton Black to the top of the mountain where the Sioux leader awaits him. It's not a difficult mission. But it involves a lot of battles. So completing the whole campaign can exhaust you a bit.
When you first start out, you may want to take Chayton Black and enter the red Sioux region. Release a Paiute Scout. (See Screnshot 14-01.) Use him to scout the map.
Concentrate on the economy and advance to the Industrial Age (IV). Build a strong economy as the war will last for a long time. The base will be raided by a small group of indians a few times. So expect them at the exit of your base. (See Screnshot 14-02.) They don't have artilleries. So they can't give you a hard time. |
|

Screenshot 14-01 |
When you are ready to advance with your military, bring a couple of villagers, which you need to build military compounds. (See Screnshot 14-03.) It will be a long trip. And you have to constantly add military units. |
After destroying the first red town center, move to the west and destroy the 2nd red town center. (See Screnshot 14-05.) Then advance to the northwest, not to the east. (See Screnshot 14-06.) You may want to split your military into 2 groups here because some enemy units come from the east. Let one group of troops advance with Chayton, leaving the other group to stop enemy units from going all the way to your base. |
As you move, you will get a Black Powder Wagon. Use them only at the end. Eventually, you will need to blow up enemy's weapon cache to clear the way so that Chayton can meet with the Sioux leader. (See Screnshot 14-08.) |

ACT I: 5. Turning Point
Difficulty: Hard
This mission has two folds. First, Holme asks Chayton Black to protect wood collectors. You have four Wakina Rifle men coming along with Black. And there are 3 trading posts. The only building you have besides these trading posts is a war hut and nothing else. (See Screnshot 15-01.)
As soon as the campaign starts, open each trading post and set the delivery request to either food or coins, depending on which military unit you want for assistance, Musketeer or Veteran Skirmisher. (See Screnshot 15-02.) Generating a musketeer requires more food but less gold (75 food, 25 gold), and generating a veteran skirmisher requires less food but more gold (50 food, 65 gold).
Send Black and 4 rifle men to the north and defend wood cutters. (See Screnshot 15-03.) Set the gathering point of the war hut to the location where they are. Whenever a delivery wagon passes, use the hot key to locate the war hut (Command + W), generate new military units and send them to Chayton Black. |
|

Screenshot 15-01 |
When wood cutters collect a sufficient amount of wood, the fort progress will reach 100%. Eventually, Holme says that he is going to burn the whole indian village in the north. Black then changes his sides. He is now going to fight Holme. Send Black and other military units immediately to the indian base in the north. |
Advance to the Fort Age (III) while building up the military. Home sends a large military with artilleries. (See Screnshot 15-04.) After their first raid, quickly rebuild your military and send it all the way to the south and defeat their 2nd raid squad. Find them near Holme's fortress. If you occupy this area, you will win. If you can't find them here, it will be difficult to finish this campaign because you can't tell to which way Holme's military will go.
You may want to use the cards to bring some military units from Home City to defeat this group of Holme's men. Don't wait till you reach the 4th age. After defeating their 2nd raid squad, build military compounds in the same neighborhood. Use several artilleries to destroy the two watch towers in front of a stable. (See Screnshot 15-05.) The pillars of the fortress have guns. So don't enter it. Or you men will be easily and quickly cooked. Use artilleries to destroy each of the front 4 or 5 pillars. (See Screnshot 15-06.) Eventually, use the artilleries to destroy the Command Post. (See Screnshot 15-07.) |
